The club first began in season 1972/73 as the 1st Glen Lusset Cub Scouts competing in the Clydebank &
District Junior Soccer League at Under 11 level. Due to interest from local boys not associated with the cubs it was
decided to form a Boys Club team competing in the SYCA League (1973). The Clubs colours of red/yellow are taken from
the colour of the Cubs neckties. The name Kilpatrick was decided upon by consultation with the players, my assistant
Rich McBride and myself. The name represented the old name of the Village that was used for centuries past, before the
building of New Kilpatrick, now Bearsden, caused the village to have the pre-fix "Old" added.
The founder members of the club were myself as chairman and Rich McBride as everything else. The growth
of the Club to it's present level is the result of dedication by a great many committee men and friends, living & dead,
who are too many to name in this report.
